Frank T. Caprio was elected General Treasurer in November of 2006. Born in Providence, he attended public schools in Narragansett and was a top scholar athlete at Bishop Hendricken High School. He was admitted early decision to Harvard, where he majored in economics and was captain of the Harvard baseball team and an All-Ivy League football player. He served in the Rhode Island House and Senate (1991-2006).
As General Treasurer, he is committed to effectively managing the state's assets while promoting fiscal literacy to help Rhode Islanders make the most of their money. He is married to Gabriella (DiGiacinto) Caprio, a high school teacher of Spanish and Italian languages, and has two children, Ashley and Frank II.
