It's interesting that he's making so many gaffes recently - I don't think we can place him in the same circle of stupidity to which George W. belongs. In fact, as much as it pains me to say it, McCain is actually a pretty smart guy (well, as smart as Republicans can get, anyway). So, why all these dumb statements? I think it may simply be a matter of age - John McCain is rapidly becoming a tired old man. Let's face it - this guy doesn't have the physical dexterity to run a marathon anytime soon. And don't physical dexterity and mental dexterity go hand in hand? And, for a guy turning 72 next month, isn't it safe to say that McCain has already peaked mentally? He had his shot at the presidency - it came and went during the 2000 primaries. The most powerful title on earth should not be handed to an old man already showing signs of dementia.
