The Rhode Island Democratic Party (RIDP) is hiring an experienced campaign coordinator to manage the Party’s House Campaign Project for the 2022 campaign cycle. The House Campaign Coordinator will be responsible for implementing a campaign plan that includes incumbent support and candidate recruitment. Democrats currently hold 33 of the 38 seats in the Rhode IslandI State House. This position reports to the RIDP Senior Advisor;, however, the Coordinator will also work closely
with the Party’s House leadership and staff. The position is based in Rhode IslandI.
The ideal candidate is highly organized, able to juggle many demands and candidates at one time, and a responsible, reliable individual with proven leadership management and interpersonal skills.
Duties include (but are not limited to):
Serving as primary House candidate contact
Maintain up- to- the- minute communication with House leadership
and staff;, coordinate work efforts
Conduct opposition research and tracking
Writing campaign plans, advising candidates on messaginge,
e/mail, targeting, fundraising and other strategies
Organizing and conducting trainings on a range of topics
Recruiting volunteers
Networking with like-minded allies
Building relationships with constituency groups
Writing for and with candidates
Organize and manage canvasses
Organize VBM chase programs in coordination with RIDP
Organize election month in coordination with RIDP
Desired Skills:
2-5 years campaign experience
Familiarity with RI legislative goals and political processes
Ability to execute strategic goals and work effectively with state
and local leaders
Ability to track and report activity in an accountable structure
Proficiency with NGP VAN and VoteBuilder
Excellent oral and written communication skills
Fundraising experience with political or not- for- profit
organizations
Ability to work independently, multitask and prioritize with
minimal supervision
Flexibility to allow for events on weekends and in the evening.
Valid driver’s license
