STATEMENT BY R.I. DEMOCRATIC PARTY CHAIR ON THE INAUGURATION OF JOSEPH R. BIDEN, Jr., AS PRESIDENT OF THE UNITED STATES AND KAMALA D. HARRIS AS VICE PRESIDENT

WARWICK, R.I. – “Today’s Inauguration ceremonies allowed us to see strength, moral character, determination and pure patriotism of our new president, Joseph R. Biden, Jr., and vice president, Kamala D. Harris,” said Joseph M. McNamara, chair of the R.I. Democratic Party.

“As our 46th president, Joe Biden will right this ‘ship of state’ and restore confidence in our democracy, its institutions and its leaders. With Vice President Harris, they will tackle the Covid-19 pandemic, end the disinformation campaigns, and make our economy work for all Americans, not just the few,” McNamara said.

“Our hearts swell with pride and confidence about what America can be. And in the months and years ahead, this new Administration will bring us closer to that ideal,” he said.
